But it just feels... out of your hands?
Maybe you don’t know how to set up your machine for it.
Or you tried once and your thread kept breaking, the stitches looked messy, or you felt like you had no control.
Maybe you’ve watched videos and saved posts, but you still don’t feel confident to actually start.
I know how that feels. When I started, I didn’t know what I was doing either. But I figured it out, and I’m so happy I didn’t give up!
Nice to meet you! I’m Vania.
I'm a clothing maker and I’ve been up-cycling for over 25 years.
Ideas come to my mind at random times and one time I thought.. wait I could just up-cycle garments by drawing on them with thread!
At that time I had an industrial straight stitch Juki and that machine was the one I used to do my first drawings on clothing.
Oh I struggled so much at first! I didn’t know anything about isolating feed dogs or switching the presser foot.
I’d just stitch around trying to make lines.
Eventually I learned about free motion stitching using a domestic machine but had no one to guide me and so it wasn't easy!
My machine'd act up, skip stitches, thread bunching up, tension issues and all sorts of struggles ugh!
I spent so much time trying to figure it out, watching YouTube videos with no one to ask when I got stuck.
As you probably noticed I’m obsessed with FME and after practicing a lot, embroidery became my main work.
Free Motion Sewing Club is the only online space where you can learn and practice free motion stitching in a way that feels clear, doable, and motivating.
You’ll start using your sewing machine in a new way.
Inside, you’ll find the kind of support I wish I had when I started. Easy-to-follow lessons. Ideas that make you want to sit down and stitch. Answers to the questions that usually stop you.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about practicing, trying things, and seeing real progress without figuring it all out by yourself.
This is for sewists who always dreamt of embroidering on a sewing machine but haven't started or taken it seriously yet.
And here's something else I’ve learned: When I’m stitching, my anxiety quiets down. It’s like meditation to me.
Let’s be honest.
You can totally go and get a computerized embroidery machine. Many people take that route because those machines can make perfect looking embroidery.
But if you want to feel good with your sewing machine, create imperfect pieces that have that human magic and you understand that this is about the process of stitching, keep reading...
It costs less than a trip to the fabric store and saves you a whole lot of stress!
Here’s how it’s going to work:

Machine Setup Training: A step-by-step guide to help you get your sewing machine ready for free motion embroidery. No fluff. No stress. Just what you need to get started.
The full Drawing With Your Sewing Machine course: In bite-sized tutorials that show you exactly how to do each technique. You can watch them anytime and rewatch as much as you want. By the way, many others paid $297 for this course alone.
Monthly Projects and Templates: Each month you’ll get something new to try.
Templates to trace, ideas to play with, and projects that keep you practicing and inspired.
To keep us stitching and not letting our machines collect dust.
It's been really fun to see every member create their own version of the monthly projects!
2 Live Calls every month: We geek out on sewing machines, talk about different tools and threads, share ideas, and answer your questions live on Zoom.
Help Troubleshooting Your Machine: This is a big one. When something’s off and you’re not sure why, bring it to the group or the next call. You’ll get real answers, not just Google guesses.
Private Community: This is where we hang out daily! Members share what they’re making, trade ideas, and give tons of encouragement. It’s honestly my favorite part of the club.
The community can be accessed via desktop or a smartphone app.
You’ll get access to a special workshop where I show you how I sell my own embroidery at markets, online, and to repeat customers who love to collect my work.
Not only will this save you time trying to figure things out on your own, but it’ll also give you real ideas and examples you can actually use. Even if you’re just curious for now, it’s worth watching.
You’ll get access to my big library of design templates. I’m always adding new ones. Some are vintage finds, some I draw myself, and yes, even a few made with AI (before I knew the environmental issues).
Whenever you want to try something new, just browse the collection and pick a design to start stitching.

You don’t need to be. A lot of people say this, and I get it! I used to think the same. But free motion embroidery isn’t about being a trained artist. It’s about expression, texture, and movement. I’ll guide you with easy designs, shapes you can trace, and exercises to build your confidence.
If your machine can sew a straight stitch, there’s a good chance it can work. I’ll show you how to check for compatibility and what to do if your machine is a little different.
No. This is for beginners. You’ll get help starting from zero, and you can go at your own pace. No pressure, no need to be perfect.
Nope. Just a regular sewing machine, thread, fabric, and a couple of low-cost accessories. I’ll show you exactly what you need.
